INSTITUTE OF BLIND
PEARSON FUND NOW TOTALS £62,000
AL C’KLAND, April 5. At the annual meeting of the Jubilee Institute for the Blind, the Chairman (Air H. E. Vaile), referring to the Sir Arthur Pearson Memorial Fund, said it now amounted to £62,001. This revenue enabled them to give practical help to blind people all over the Dominion, financing them into businesses, trades, farms and homes and solving difficulties which, formerly, would have effectively prevented many blind persons from becoming established in independence. Their activities under this fund were legion, and the results deeply gratifying.
The administration of the director. Air Clutha Alackenzie, was prdised by the Hon. George Fciwlds, reference being made To recent criticism. The two retiring members of the Board of Trustees, Alessrs H. E. Vaile and F. AY. AA 7 ake, were re-elected by an overwhelming majority. The result ok the election was as follows: Air A r aile 104 votes, Air A\ T ake 101, Mr Alorton Aldis 17, Airs M. Dreaver 13. Air \ r aile was unanimously re-elected chairman of the Board.—P.A.
