De Merveaux, a fencing master ana a war ace, is suing Stuart Blaclcton, a former Englishman, and a wellknown movie director, for £SOOO damages for injuries caused by a horsewhipping. De Merveaux alleged that while he was engaged instructing Blackton’s daughter, Blaclcton returned home, and accused him of having insulted his wife. . Blaclcton. he alleges, horsewhipped him, causing a severe scar on the temple, and his wife smacked his face, ami also used the horsewhip.
