WOOL MARKET
CHRISTCHURCH. SALES KEEN AND WELL-SUSTAINED COMPETITION CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 1. The first wool sale of the Christchurch season was held to-day with a full bench of buyers, representing Bradford, American and Continental houses, also local mills and scourers. There was a good selection of fine quality wools, fairly heavy in condition but sound and well-grown, a fair proportion carrying dust owing to the dry winter. Bidding was keen, general and well sustained by Bradford, Continental and American houses, the local mills being in the market for special lines.
The - following is the range of prices:—
- Merino, 62-70, 60-64: Super 19d to 20d; average l6kl to 18|d: inferior 13)d to 15d. Corriedale: Extra super 211 d ■ super ISd to 20d - average 10d to 17)d; inferior 13d to 15d. Fine halfbred,. 58-56: Extra super 19)d to 20)d; super 17d to 19d; average 15)d to 17d • inferior lOd to 15d
Medium halfbred, 50-46: Extra super 38d to 18-J-d; super 16)d to 17)d; average 14d to 16d: inferior 12d to 13id.
Coarse halfbred, 48 50: Super I4d to 14^d: average 12)d to 13Id: inferior lid to 12d. Fine crossbred, 46-48. Super 13d to 13fd; average llid to 12-i-d; inferior 10d to lid.
Medium crossbred, 44-46: Super 12d to 12fcl; average lOd to inferior 9d to lOd.
Coarse crossbred, 40-44: Super lid to ll)d; average lOd to 103 d; inferior 8)d to 9)d, Bellies and pieces: Merino, good to super 13)d to 15)d; merino, low to medium 10)d to 12)d.

Values are unchanged for all wools showing quality, with good general competition. Burry and broad wools are still irregular" and difficult to sell. merino sold to 30d.— LONDON SALES. LONDON, Nov. 80. At the wool sales there was an average selection. There was animated competition for all classes, and prices were fully hrm. Included in New Zealand sales were: Belmont lotd, 144 d.—A and N.Z.O.A.
