BANKRUPT
ORDERED TO PAY £1 A WEEK
DUNEDIN, Nov. 30. - “’He seems to have been deliberately swindling bis creditors by sending money to his father in Greece. A rogue like that doesn t deserve any consideration at all; an impudent rogue at that.” These were the remarks of Mr. Justice Sim in respect to Constantine Soumnrns, bankrupt restaurant keeper. Soumnrns, who 'had applied for a discharge from bankruptcy at the previous-sitting of the Court, appeared on this occasion in connection with an application made under Section 62 of'the Bankruptcy Act for an order for the payment of money towards the discharge of debts. Bankrupt, in a statement, claimed that pressure bv certain creditors had caused the restaurant business to be sold at a loss. Bankrupt’s tot'd debts were £llOO. The Judve ordered him to pay £t a week to'the Official Assignee until he 'had paid a sum sufficient to satisfy all the preferential claims and pav a dividend of 5s in the £ to the ordinary erditors. Application for discharge was adjourned until boumaras complied with the order. Press Assn.,
