A SENSATIONAL WIN NOT EVEN WRITTEN DOWN BY BOOKMAKERS PURCHASED FOR £231. (Received Oct. 14. 8.15 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. 14. Mvra. Grav’s success in the Ctesarewitcii created a turf sensation. She comes from a comparatively unknown stable, and the majority of the bookmakers never write her name. She is not fashionably bred, and had done nothing that in the remotest degree suggested the possibility of success in a. classic went. The mare was purchased by Mr Jack Davis last year for £231. Myra Graa vas described by a newspaper turf expert as “a nice old ladv with about as much chance of winning the Oes a rev si toll as the bookmakers have oi losing over it”.—A. and N.Z.C.A.
