A RECONCILIATION
PRINCE CAROL AND MOTHER
PATHETIC SCENE ON QUEEN’S DEPARTURE FOR AMERICA.
PARIS, Oct. 12
A public reconciliation of Crown Prince Carol and Queen Marie of Rumania is reported.' The latter, surrounded by tier suite, was leaving Saint Lazare station for America, when a fair-haired young man pushed through tlie crowd, seized the Queen s hand, and kissed it passionately. The Queen was startled and then recognised her own son. After a momentary hesitation she took him m her arms and embraced him fervently, weeping. People on the platform discreetly withdrew, allowing the reconciliation to become complete, though it was earlier understod that the Queen had forbidden Carol to visit her. The Queen looked extremely happy when she left to join the Leviathan. It is understood ' that the reconciliation does not at present affect Carol’s renunciation of the right of succession. —A.S .Z.y.A.
