JURY DISAGREE,
NEW YORK, Oct. 12.,, The jury in the Daugherty and Miller trial disagreed after 65 hours de.liberation.
Judge Mack, several times refused to accept a disagreement owing to the cost in time and money involved by tlie proceedings, but, eventually, lie was compelled to discharge the jurv without *n verdict.—A. and N.Z.C.A.
[Daugherty and Miller, both of whom held responsible positions in the United States Civil Service during the war. were indicted on a series of charges of conspiring to return to aliens property of theirs, which was seized during the period of hostilities.]
