ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
DROWNING AT NEW LYNN,
AUCKLAND, Sept. 3
William Frederick Jones was drowned this afternoon in Wbau Greek, New Lynn, through the capsize of a seven-foot dinghy, which was being used for the first time. His brother, Herbert Jones, clung to the overturned boat and was pluckily rescued by Oswald McMillan. William Jones intended to sail for Sydney by the Marama to-moi-row, but, subsequently, changed his mind and visited his brother instead.
FATAL HEART' SEIZURE
AUCKLAND, Sept. 3
The sudden death of Mrs Agnes Gardner Anderson, aged 67, who arrived from Glasgow only eleven days ago, occurred to-day at the home of friends at Blockhouse Bay, with whom she was staying. Mrs Anderson was seized with heart attacks and died before medical aid could be summoned. A sad circumstance is that Mrs Anderson was to have moved into her own home to-morrow. She is survived by Mr Anderson and a married daughter, who resides at Blockhouse Bay.—P.A.
SEAMAN INJURED. DUNEDIN, Sept. 3. William May, seaman, aged 29, whose home is in Lyttelton, was admitted to hospital to-day suffering from head injuries received through falling down the hold of the steamer Waipahi.—P.A. '
