MIDNIGHT MURDER
JUHYMEN’S EIDER AT INQUEST. BELIEVE THERE HAS BEEN A MISCARRIAGE OF .TVoTICE. (Received Jan. 31, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 30. At the resumed inquest at Trowbridge on Richards, for whose murder Lincoln, a soldier, was sentenced to death, the jury returned a verdict of “murder by persons unidentified.” The foreman said he wished to add the following rider: “We are of opinion that there has been a grave miscarriage of justice/' The Coroner refused to accept the rider, saying: “You have no business to express such an opinion after the case has been tried by a higher court. —A.N.Z.C.A.
