TRIBUTES EROAI AUCKLAND DUNEDIN. Jan. 31. The week-end carnival at the Exhibition on Saturday added 32.928 to the attendance record, which now stands at 1,363.885. Speaking at a celebration of Auckland Anniversary Day which was held in the provincial court, Air H. R. AlcKeiizne, chairman of the Auckland Harbor Board, in proposing the toast of “The Exhibition” remarked upon the outstanding scope and impressive , character of the British. Australian/*-* Canadian and New Zealand Government Courts. In regard to the Exhibition as a whole he confessed it exceeded by far any expectation previously formed. He thought it was quite safe to say it had created a Dominion record not likely to be surpassed for very many years to come. “We wish your success may continue” he concluded. “We admire the courage you have shown and the results you have achieved. In one word the Exhibition can be summed as magnificent.” Air J. J*. Sutherland Ross, replying for the directors felicitated Auckland upon its anniversary and its line spirit of co-operation in all courts to ensure the great purpose for which the Exhibition was conceived. He welcomed the evidence of disappearing provincialism and the growth ol the common spirit of Dominion development.—.p.A.
