Bowling: Everett took five for 91 and Alailey two for 94. New South Wales won ‘by an innings and 96 runs. Tlie weather was hot and the wicket good. Ponsford played a fast, clianceless innings, scoring rapidly, but AYoodfuU was the only other batsman to withstand the bowling. He played slow, careful cricket. __ Everett bowled magnificently, a majority of the visitors finding him unplayable.— IT.P..A. S.A. BEATS QUEENSLAND. BRISBANE, Jan. 27. Playing against South Australia, Queensland, in their second innings, scor ed 171 (Mayes 36). Scott took 4 for 34 runs, A. Richardson 4 for 32, Grimmett 2 for 77. BANKS v. LAAV The annual Banks v. Law cricket match for the Arthur Rees Alemonal Cup, will he held at the High School grounds to-morrow, commencing at 9.30 a.m. sharp. In five contests since the cup was presented, the Banks have won three and the Law two. Last year the Law team, in a most exciting finish, won by one run, and this year they liavo every hope of increasing the margin of victory. The following teams have been chosen: — Law.—R. F.
