(Received Jan. 24, 5.5 p.m.) RIO DE JANEIRO, Jan. 23 The discovery of a lost Polish colony numbering one thousand in the Doce River Valley in Esperitu Santo State is reported by the Polish naturalist Stanislaus Prozyjemski. The colony has been lost since 1873. The discoverer, found the Poles grouped in complete isolation and still talking the Polish language. The original settlers were dead and their children and grandchildren had no knowledge of their relatives in their mother country. —A. and N.Z.C.A.
