Achram Bey, a rich and distinguished aristocrat, displeased with the behaviour of his 36 wives asked permission to dissolve his harem. The authorities refused, whereupon Achram invited bis wives to a feast. He sprinkled belladonna in the food and drinks, and all were discovered dead in tho banqueting hall, including Achram himself.
