DISHONEST NEWSPAPERS FALL INTO TRAP.
NO TRUTH IN REPORT OF EX-SHAH’S SUICIDE.
(United Press Association —Copyright) LONDON, Jan. 3 A Prague correspondent relates an extraordinary explanation regarding the news, broadcasted from Prague on. December 30 that the ex-Sliah of Persia had committed suicide.
It appears that the Radio Central News Agency, supplying wireless messages to Czecho-slovak and other European newspapers, had for some time suspected certain newspapers of cribbing news. In order to discover the culprits, the agency, after warning its regular subscribers, concocted tho Shah story which was sent out broadcast, with the desired results.
A number of news agencies and newspapers in Germany and elsewhere, not subscribing to the radio’s service, received, distributed and published the faked message. It is now possible the Shah may take action.— Times.
