EXHIBITION ATTRACTIONS
BIG GOVERNMENT DISPLAY. Among hundreds of unique features at the New Zealand and South Seas Internationrl Exhibition, -which will he opened in Dunedin by tho Governor-General in three weeks’ time, is the l>:g Pavilion occupied by the New Zealand Government w tli a remarkable display, the result of cooperation bv 15 Government Departments. Here the vis tor will find a complete working post office. Signs d'rect the stranger to the cinema theatre, where films of New Zealrnd scenery and. life in town and country w'V bo screened daily, ir.elud ng some of the best of those which were screened at Wembley'. r lhe unique scenic attract ons of the Dominion will he further displayed by the Tourist Department by means of splendid photographs and illustrations and the country's sporting resources will he represented bv full-sized spec mens of stuffed deer, thar, clirmois, and other game, and by one of the finest collections of deer heads ever dsplayed One of the niost striking features of the Court is also devoted to' depiet'ng the charm of New Zealanders’ country. ' Probably one of the first things which tho v-silor will not cc is an aeroplane suspended among the ratters to show it in fighting order, w th the bombs tucked under the wings. Second aeroplane, field guns, mines, and other weapons of war aie shown by the Defence Department, and it- is significant of the size oi the pavilions that these big exhibits ht irto tlie'r surroundings quite comfortably. The Railway Department has a length of standard track to demonstrate' the working of automate safety signalling, points-and crossing and the Public Works Department, shows interesting models of bridges amt hvdro-electrle stations and other niiblic works In another pavvjonlocomotives and-tlie latest in s eeping c nrs are on.vew. A mono- the other departments represente'd in this splendid- pavilion are the Post and Telegraph, which features, a most interesting exhibit ot telegraph, telephone and wireless apparatus, the Mines Department, which shews a work.r.g model ot n m ine shaft, the Forestry ana Agncultrual Departments (the latter has experimental plots just cuts do the bu l'H and fio Department of lud,usIries aiul iComnvei’ee. which displays:; a veir.arkab c colored poster, showing on one large canvas the history of tho Dominion since the days ot its occupat’on by the Maoris.
