Anderson generally was superior. Oliver led 5-3 in the second set, but was out placed. Anderson also beat D. Andrews (We lington prov ncial champion'. In the doubles exhib.t.on Anderson and N. Wilson (Wellington) beat Olivier md Andrews—6 —I, 4—6 6—o. A number of sets -were played between New Zealand ladies who mixed with the Australians to fo.m doubles, and all the pa rs which included the Austral ans, Airs. Harper, and Misses Boyd and Akliurst, won. the New Zealand ladles were AirsScott, .-ml Misses Ballantyne, Partridge, Spiers, Ml MacFarlane and AI. Traev.—P.A.
