The Norwegian steamer Elven, bound from Rotterdam io Sydney, wlrch stood by for the purpose of rescuing the crew of the stormstreken Italian freighter Ignacmio Florin in mid-Atlantic last week, fell a victim to the samd;, storm, and was rbandoned 1400 miles cast of New York, according to a wireless message from, the steamer American Trader, wlrch states that the vessel is bringing to New York the crew, eleven member’s of whom had been lei t behind. The rudder was smashed and the life boats carried away. The United States Inor President Harding rescued' the crew of the Ignacmio Florio—A. ar.d N.Z.C.A.
