■ The annual ■ convention of the American College of- Surgeons opened at Philadelphia. It was attended by ‘Sr Dor.ald McGavin, New Zea’and, and also Australian delegates. Dr. Charles N. Mayo, head of the famous Mayo Clinic, declared little possibility of a mistake in the diagnosis of disease remains. The trained nurse of to-day knows more than the physician of thirty years ago. The Convention is attended by 2500 surgeons, and continues until Friday. Clinics aro held in connection with the lectures.—A. and N.Z.C.A.
