Not Leaning On The State SOME readers who see the term “State guarantee connected with the 1 übhe Trust Office may imagine that the office is financed by ■"rants from the Government. This is not so. It fc true that the resources of the State are security for the acts of the Public Trustee, but; in the course ■ of long • years of careful and economical management’ reserve funds have been built up which have practically relieved the Government from any liability under ( the State guarantee. The charges for the safe service to the thousands of beneficiaries are low, but the huge volume of business enables tlie office to make profits. Gradually during successive years- the reserves built up out of profits have reached a sum exceeding £605,000..
