AVAIAPU ASSOCIATION

(Special to the Times.) TOKOMARU BAY, Oct. 23. The annual meeting of the Waiapu Cricket Assoc ation has been postponed on account of bad weather preventing delegates attending till Monday, 26th. One of the important matters to be arranged is the match with Poverty Bay for the right to cha lenge the holders of the Hawke Cup. These matches have to he played by December 13th, so that the New Zealand Cricket Council will have time to arrange the dates with the holders on which to p’.ay off the challenges. Another part ter of Interest is the proposed visit to G sborne .of the Nomads touring team at New Year. Mr D. C. Collins, who has captained New Zealand and Wellington representative teams, is arrang ng the tour, and proposes to meet Waiapu at Gisborne on January 4th and stli after plaving Poverty Bay on January Ist and 2nd. The Nomads also intend playing at Wairon, Napier, Hastings and Dannevirke. x
