SEVEN MEN HANGED AT CAIRO
SCAFFOLD BOMBAST.
LONDON, Aug. 24
Seven of- the men condemned to death for the murder of the Sirdar, Sir Lee Stack, were hanged at Cairo to-day, the executions lasting over five hours, from 0 a.m. to 11 a,m,. Attaren Nayat .was reprieved, as his confession led to the. discovery of the remainder of the conspirators. * All of those hanged displayed great fortitude, except Shafik Alansour, who wept and fought wildly. ' Hatnidcn Nayat declared: “I have no fear of hanging. I have killed 85 Englishmen,' therefore I, am proud to die.” Officials declare that tills was mere scaffold bombast. Mahmoud Ismail, who was,regarded as the master-mind lienind the assassination, protested at hting pin ened, but preserved a. cynical iml iff?) cnce. It is believed that he carried important secrets to the grave. The public were not aware of the executions until the relatives were notified to take away too bod es.
