The car left Wellington Post Office at 2.40 a.m. yesterday, and arrived back in Auckland at 1.20 this morning. The same route was followed on the return journey, and this distance was again accomplished without a hitch of any kind, not even a puncture. This reliability trial clearly proves that light British cars are capable of standing up to the rough road conditions met with in New Zealand. The petrol consumption works out at exactly 50 miles per gallon. Although not intended for a speed performance the car averaged 21 miles per hour both ways.
