At Seabright in the semi-finals of the men’s doubles, Kinsey Brothers defeated Norris Williams and Matron Washburn, —6—3, 3—6, 6—3.; Johns-ton-Clareuee and Griffin defeated Richards and Eav Casey,—6— 2, 2—6 6—3. • (Argus.) (Received August 2. 5.5 p.'rn.) new YORK, August 1. At the Seabright tournament Miss Elizabeth Ryan defeated MissHelen Wills in the final, —6—3, (>—3. The weather conditions were partially* responsible for Miss Wills’ defeat, which is the first since 1923, when she was “downed” by Miss Eleanor Goss. The court was heavy from rain. Miss Ryan’s chop stroke attack completely upset the young champion. The ball’ barely rose from the court. Miss Elizabeth Ryan and Mss Eleanor Goss won the women’s doub'es fmaL defeating Misses Helen Wills and Alary Browne, —11—9, 6 —l, Miss Ryan contributing most decisive strokes. (Reuter’s Telegram.)
