ATTACK ON WOMAN
YOUTH DETAINED

(Received. August 2. 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY,' August' A veung woman named Doris Mahar, was bending over a wash-tuo where she was employed at Stockton, Newcastle,- when she was ferociously attacked, with an axe and injured in the head. She was sent to hospital unconscious.
A boy of 14 years was detained. The police state that robbery is believed to the the motive, as a sum of money is missing from the house.
