SEABRIGHT TOURNAMENT SUCCESS OF AUSTRALIANS. (A. 1 and N.Z. Cable Assn.) VANCOUVER, July 29. At the Seabright tennis tournament Anderson reached the semifinals, defeating Chapin—-6—3, 6—3. In the mixed doubles, first round, Mrs Marion Jessup (Wilmington, Del ware), and Hawkes defeated Mrs M. B. Huff (Philadelphia) and Stratford— 6—2, 6 —3, and Miss Elizabeth Ryan and Patterson defeated Mrs Harrison Smith (New York), and Lieut. Edgar Garbish' (U.S.A.) —6—2. 6—l At the Seabright tournament, in the third round of the singles, Norris Williams (Philadelphia) defeated Hawkes—7—s , 6 —3; Richards tie-, feated Patterson—6—3. -3—2. INTER-ZONE DAVIS CUP MATCHES. (A. and N.Z. Cable Assn.) NEW YORK, July 29. The dates for the inter-zone Davis Cup matches have been officially changed to September 4. 5, and 7, the last date: being a holiday, Labor Day, on which good tennis is customarily provided at Forest Hills. It is expected the inter-zone teams will lie evenly matched, assuring the necessity for a third day’s singles to decide the result. AUSTRALIA V. SCOTLAND. LADIES’ CONTESTS. LONDON. July 29. The Australian lady tennis players won all the matches in the competition arranged with the Scottish ladies. AUSTRALIAN LADIES BEAT SCOTTISH TEAM. (Reuter’s Telegram.) (Received July 30, 7.30 p.m.) LONDON, July 29. The Australian lady tennis players easily beat Scotland by 11 games to 1.
