Professor Condiirfe of Canteroury College, New Zealand, a delegate to the Pan-Pacific conference, is a passenger by the Maungantn. In an interview lie said the goal before the Institute, which had been, formed as the result of the conference, was a basis for international co-operation on the Pacific prob ems. Tlie Institute was formed among economists and students from the <•<>uni ties on the Pacific Fttoral to •uvesligate international problems as l hoy affect those countries. Tlie lustiiute would be permanent and have a branch in Australia, but it was not a pacificist organisation.
