NOT A PARTY MAN
WANTS FUSION OF ALL THREE PARTIES. (SPECIAL TO THE TIMES.) WELLINGTON, July 29.. In his speech to-day, Mr F. J. Eollcston said he did not propose to comment on the fusion question, except to say that any action by way of fusion liot of the two main parties, but of all the parties in the House would appeal to him. He hoped the party system in. New Zealand was coming to an end. He wished he could say the time was a little nearer. He imagined from what he had observed that the electors must be becoming tired of the party system. He thought the people would prefer a man who would say what measures he would support before a party mam. Mr Voitch, who had addressed the House on the previous night, had spoken earnestly, as was always the case with him. But when he said that the people expected something better of their- representatives than they were getting, he. wondered if the hon. member realised that Ins party was responsible for the sixth no-confidenco motion of a session that had not lasted five weeks.
