Lenglen, in the height of her form, completely out-classed Miss McKane in the women’s singles, permitting her to play as well only as the winner desired. The men's doubles, in the tli rd round resulted: Hennessey and Casey beat Bnrc'av and Croleress, B—lo, 6—3. 6—3, 6—4. In the fourth round, Borotra and La Coste beat the Britishers Hunt and Berger, entering the semi-finals. In the mixed doubles. Borotra and Mdlle. Lenglen entered ' the semifinal, defeating Gilbert and Miss McKiiue, 6—l, 6—2. The winners were not extended. The holders were outplayed throughout.' Borotra’s marvellous speed and terrific smashes were not overshadowed by Mdlle. Lenglen.
