HANNAN FAILS TO PAY SECOND
DEPOSIT
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION. —cOPYEIGHF (Received June 15. 3.15 p.m.; SYDNEY. June 10. Another hitch occurred in connection with the Goodsell-Kannan sculling race. Noon to-day was fixed in the signed articles for Hannan to pay his second instalment of tin stake money oi £3OO which he is getting from Auckland hackers. When the time was due Hannan stated thattiie money had not so far arrived. .-Liter consultation with Goodsell’s hackers, the latter decided not to claim the forfeiture of £IOO which Hannan had already deposited, as they were entitled to under the articles. but to grant the New Zealander an extension of time until, noon on Wednesday next to deposit £3OO. If the money is net deposited then, there is every probability of the match being declared off. Hannan states he cabled last week to his Auckland hackers, but they may have missed the mail, m which event it would he necessary to cable the money if the match is not to lie cancelled.
