SHIPPING TROUBLE

INTER-STATE BOATS MAY BE

HELD UP

(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPYRIGHT)

(Deceived June 15, 10.50 p.m.) SYDNEY, June 15. The opinion in shipping circles is that there will lie a hold-up in interstate shipping following upon the deregistration of the Seamen’s Union. The shipowners are, apparently, forcing tlie issue. So far, Sydney is not affected by the decis’on of the Melbourne ship-owners not to place in the new articles a clause guaranteeing the same wages and conditions as those existing'before the union’s deregistration, but the articles of interstate vessels trading with Sydney will short!v expire and a fight is then expected to begin here. MET /BOURNE. June 15.

The Wharf Laborers’ Uwon dec’ined to handle cargo from the Monora unless the st-ea.m were supplied bv union donkevmen.
