ALLEGED BURGLARIES
BOOTY VALUED AT OVER £I6OO (MESS /. SSOO! a fION> AUCKLAND, April 27.
The Police Court was occupied with charges of burglary against Daniel Flynn, also known as Alike Flynn, and Robert Heaton Alunvo, tlie charges. against both, conjointly, involving goods valued su; £1296, and against Alunro £3Sq. Detective Barling, who arrested Alunro at Franktcn on April 6, said the assistance Alunro gave the police resulted in. the recovery of hundreds of pounds’ worth of stolen goods. Alunro stated that Flynn had been closely associated with him in all jJie crimes involved in tlie present charges. Flynn, in liis statement to the police detailed .visits to various places with Alunro and said he regretted having committed the offences and was prepared to render all joossiblo assistance in clearing the matter up. In a statement to tbo police, Alunvo said be (Alunro) did the actual breaking and entering on his own. in some cases one man could get into some of the places without outside help. “When- Flynn first met me,” said Alunro, “lie gained by confidence •by the fact that lie said be bad burgled several places prior to nav meeting him. Foolishly I thought that lie could not be caught by the police and so consented to help him. in ether burglaries” Air. A lonely intimated that both 'accused would formally plead not guilty. They were committed to the Supreme Court for trial, bail being fixed at £590 each.
Tlic charge against Elsie Loveairove of receiving stolen goods was adjourned for a. week.
