“LOVE LETTERS” AND “HANDLE WITH CARE.”
: ‘[.ov r ' Letters,” which will ho shown i‘or one day only at the Palace this evening, shows Sh’rlcy Mason, in mother beautiful prcduct’on, which does her groat credit. -Gor'<lon I'M wards, son of the director, contributes a well-acted performance. Miss Alma Francis, lately engaged at the Fox studios, answers the demands made hy her part. William Irving, an actor of long experience, is competent in the role he lias been given. The photoplay- comes in for deserved praise, many scenes being of charming composition. But. after all, it is the story upon which a photoplay depends for value as amusement, rind in this respect “Love Letters’’ is not found wanting. Of course, with such a tit'e. it is hardly necessary to state thr.b the love element is prominent. But in addit'on there is a mystery, well developed, with a. surprising climax. The second star p'eture is ‘“Handle With Care,” featuring Grace Darmond. Charles Belmont Davis, author of “Handle With Care,” was United States‘Consul at Florence ItnW during Roosevelt’s administration. He turned to literature because it was in his. blood. Tbs father was Chirk Davis, husband of Rebecca Harding Davis and' the father of Richard. Harding Davis. “Hand’e With Care” - is an adaption of his story-..-“ The Men - Who /Would., D e For Her,” and • is - - delicious’.!' sath icn.
