LIB-LAB CAMPAIGN

SELECTION OF CANDIDATES. (PRESS ASSOCIATION) AUCKLAND, Feb. 24. At the provincial conference of the Liberal-Labor party 63 branches are represented, including city seats, and a greater number of provincial electorates. Candidates were chosen for the general elections as follows: —Waimarmo, 3lr. Smith; Eden, 3lr. Grigg; Rotorua, 31r. Oiinkard; Franklin. 3lr. Rea; Waitemata, Mr. Burbush; Raglan, Mr. Lye; City East, 3lr. Oakley Browne : Grey Lynn, 31r. Poole; City Central, 3lr. 3lorton. It was resolved to make an appeal for funds from Liberals throughout New Zealand. In regard to seats net yet allocated it was decided to hold delegate’s meetings, and make local selections before candidates’ name? could be considered by the provincial council. In one constituency no fewer than five candidates are in the field, while in several others two and three are offering their services.
