Tho police arc investigating an alleged murderous attack by Lany, a well-known Russian Communist, against Kleboif, an ex-Russian' officer now driving a. taxi-cab for a living. It is alleged that Lany engaged tne taxi for a long drive in the suburbs, and when passing.a quiet park shot Kleboif five times and left him lying wounded in the roadway. Lany took the wheel himself, hut had to visit a garage owing to a breakdown. The mechanics became suspicious and the police were called in. Lany, when arrested, said he had been charged with the "duty of killing Kleboff.-—A. and N.Z.O.A.
