The world famed production of “Bluebeard’c Eighth Wife,” with Gloria Swanson in her most dazzling costumes ast lie star, will be one of tho big attractions at the Palface Theatre, commencing this afternoon at 2. Another fine picture on the bill is “The Midnight Guest,” with an all star cast. Topical subjects. “Bluebeard’s Eight Wife,” is a strictly modern story of an enormously wealthy young man who had tried the matrimonial institute on seven different occasions, and divorce was the end of each trial. Then along came the most resplendent creature lie had mot, Gloria Swanson. He married her, and then she found out he had seven previous wives, and that- divorce was a habit that ho could not overcome. So, she decided that lie would- love her, and keep on loving her. How was this to be accomplished P But by an amazing yet perfectly natural preceding, she had the Don Juan in her grasp all the time. The story is redolent with high class humour and sensational scenes, gorgeous gowns and settings, startling and sensational climaxes. Gloria Swanson is at her greatest in tho world famed story of stage and screen. “Midnight Guests” is a story of quite a different theme, the talc of two nature men, for a. woman who had lived' life in every aspect and came through clean.
