Tho Federal Grand Jury lias handed ud an indictment charging thirty-one individuals and corporations with a conspiracy to violate the Prohibition Act and defraud the Government of liquor taxes, allegedly aggregating more than haP- a million dollars. Federal Attorney Lemon said the Benthei manufacturing corporation, engaged in making hair tonic, had sold alcohol to bootleggers in Western and mid-Wcstorn cities since 1921. A. and N.Z.O.A. Tho resumption of the hearings of the fifty-nine identic Beer Bills caused a stormy session filled with charges and counter-charges and denials. The room was crowded with women and “dry” leaders.
