PREMIER'S OPINION OX ELECTION. : ‘MAY BE FORCED' ON HOUSE.” WELLINGTON. May 9. Mr Massey, in replying to a deptttation from the New Zealand Alliance, said that it did not rest with him as to whether there was likely to be a general election scoa. He was strongly opposed to on election, because he knew how it interfered with business and what it cost. _ "If it is possible to avoid an election I am quite willing to assist in that direction. hut it may he forced upon the House,” he said. —P.A.
