ALL STAR CAST IN “GIMME” JOSEPH DOWLING' IN “KENTUCKY COLONEL.”
The bigest comedy drama of the year, Rupert. Hughes’ ‘ ‘Gimme”, will ho shown for the first time at the. Palace Theatre this afternoon. All classes of picture patrons have been waiting for this picture to come along the advance reports having whetted everyone’s .anpct’te. It is a story of young married life and lovers still engaged. The plot is one of the most amusing ones yet filmed. It is written around a pretty girl who was an interior designer, and who married a brilliant young man who really loved her. Rut every time there was a little hill to pay it was like pulling teeth. "Gin.'ire!” was Ivor favourite caLeh word. And then or.o d'ay she. decided that marriage was a 50-50 iproposition. and slm at once if.-ted upon her decision. Rupert Hughes says everyone- has the “Gimmes” more or less, “If you can’t- make your owes behave, Youv’e got the gimmes.” “If you feel lonesome at night, youV’e got the gimmes,” and there tire numerous other signs all vividly depicted in this sensationally laughing story. There are-plenty of dramatic situations in tho picture. It can he safely said that there is no topic of more vital interest to the general public than the purse question of domestic life so skilfully and so dramatically presented in* this magnetic story of “Gimme.” The supporting programme includes the five act drama tic play, “The Kentucky Colonel,” with Joseph Dowlin'g in the leading role.
