(Received May 6, 10.15 p.m.) , LONDON, May 5. Mr Cook, secretary of the Mineis' Federation, at Pontypool referred to the Court of Enquiry on miners’ wages which lias just concluded. He said that unless the Court made some tangible recommendations tho enquiry would have been a waste of time. Ho had arranged to meet the coal owners on May 14. If tho men’s proposals were not satisfied there could he only two alternatives—strike or an appeal to the Government, which had power to grant ” just demands.—Reuter.
