BURST FLY WHEEL.

MAN HIT BY THREE-TON FRAGMENT. A flv-whoel, 20ft in diameter and weighing 54 tons, burst at the Globe Ironworks, Stalybridge, Cheshire, killing cue man and seriously injuring five others. I ragments of the wheel were thrown, througu the root oi tho rolling mills to the galvanising department, and one of them, weighing about three tons, passed over a railway wagon in which John Ropwood was workinocutting him in two. One of the spokes and part of the flange of the wheel flew through the root of the engine shod almost vertically and crashed into the chimney 240 ft high, pausing about 50ft from the top to fall. One of the- injured men is in a critical condition.
