GAIETY SKATING RINK.
OFFICIAL OPENING! TO-NIGHT. Tliis evening should Ui a memorable occasion for amusement lovers in Gisborne, for it will see the opening of the- Gaiety Skating Rink in C'obden Street, near Gladstone road. The building, which was formerly used as a wool store, has been entirely renovated and a special floor put down. Some 300 odd pairs of tho latest design hall bearing skates have been purchased by the management, so that patrons will enioy the popular pastime under the most luxurious conditions. Competent instructors are to ho provided for both male and female skaters and in addition special provision will be made for beginners. This evening the 'City Band will march from t- vn to the rink and the Mayor will officially declare the rink .open at 8 oeloek, when a grand march will take place round the floor. Skating will then continue throughout the evening, the music being supplied by the City BandCommencing next week the rink will be oven nightly from 7.30 onwards, with matinees on Thursdays and Saturdays. From Monday next a special session will he held each night from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for learners, when competent instructors will be in attendance. Special arrangements for private parties.may lie made with the management. At the evening sessions the Gaietv Orchestra of eight performers will play selections from the latest operas and popular dances.
