ST JOHN AMBULANCE.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE A meeting of the committee of the St. John Ambulance Association was held in the Girls’ Club Booms on Thursday evening. Present: Mr. a. Thomson (chairman), Misses Gordon, Butt, and Maxwell, and Messrs. J. Lloyd, S. G. Johns, H. Armstrong, G. T. Maunder and W. E. B. Froggatt (secretary). Mr. Thos. Todd wrote thanking vne Associating for electing him a vicepresident and enclosed a donation towards the funds. Dr. I. Gault wrote thanking the Association for electing her a member of the committee. Mr. J. Blair as attorney for Dr. Singer wrote notifying the Association of 'Dr. Singer’s absence, .a England. The chairman and secretary-, K were appointed trustees to the Association and it was decided to lodge in tne Pest Office Savings Bank all money received for class fees and donations. As there are a good many people in Gisborne who have already obtained first aid and' home nursing certificates and who would) he pleased to become members of the Association, it was decided the fee for honorary members should be 2a 6d for ladies and 5s for men. . = ■ It was decided to start the lirst class on April 30 at the Girls’ Club room and Dr. Gunn was appointed lecturer. ' Application is to be made to tlie Auckland Centre for permission to have the first lecture given to -cue combined ladies’ and men’s classes, and the following lectures to each class separately. . - The secretary was instructed to write to the rugby, soccer and hockey unions, asking for the names of any of their members who intend taking the course in first aid.
