EIGHT MEN KIT.TED BY EXPLOSION. LONDON. July 2D. While bricking up a section of Gartshoro colliery at Kilsyth a whole gang of eight men were killed by an explosion. The pit was hadlv wrecked. (Received Jti'.v 30. 5.20 p.m.) LONDON. July 29. Some miraculous escapes were recorded at Gnrtshore. A young miner named Sam Sloan, who was blown to the roof, fell back oil bis face, but was only cut and bruised. When he recovered his composure he groped about in the darknes and found a boy named Iveily with a broken leg. He dragged Kelly to., the cage, enabling him to be saved.—A. and N.Z.C.A.
