j GABBLING TO CUIUS PAIN. M. K. Cone, whose name is now ; known nil over the world. Ims written : a little book called “My Method," ( which is sure to he read hv many • who are anxious to discover wlmt ; “Ceueism” actually is. i 31. Coin? supplies the answer in j the simplest of words: “Couoism” is « auto-suggestion. It is the power of making people heal themselves through their subconscious self. Auto-suggestion, according to M. 'Cone, is almost infinitely powerful. “I can declare, without hesitation, that whatever the illness, the practice of rational auto-suggestion will always effect an appreciable improvement in the patient’s condition, even if the disease itself he incurable.’’ I t He explains his methods in detail. <’ or instance, to banish pain: ‘"pub | the affected spot lightly but rapidly ' with your hand, at the same time ! reptating in an undertone, so swiftly as to make it a mere gabble, the words “ca passe.” ,ln a few minutes the pain sliould disappear, or at the j very least be considerably diminish- ! ed. The reason for “gabbling” the j ; words is to avoid the risk of any j ‘ other extraneous or contrary thought slipping in 'through fissures which ; might result from a mure distinct hut ' slower diction.” People who suffer from insomnia, on the other hand, must use a different method. “Having settled themselves comfortably in Led they will repeat (not gabble) T am going J to sleep. 1 am going to sleep,' in ! a quiet, placid, even? voice.”
