DARING BURGLARIES.
JUMP ON BRITISH OFFICIAL CAR IN RUSSIA. BRITISHER WOUNDED. LONDON, May D. The Russian Telegraph Agency 'states that while militia were following a gang of burglars at Moscow one of the criminals jumped on a motor car of the British Trade Commissioner, and forced the chaffeur to drive on, the criminal meanwhile bring on Jus pursuers. In an exchange of shots Sloggott, ‘ a member of the British Commission, was wounded and taken to hospital. The criminal also was mortally wounded. The Department of Foreign Affairs lias expressed to the British mission its extreme regret at the incident.— A. and N.Z.C.A.
