AMATEUR VAUDEVILLE COMPETITIONS
SATURDAY AND MONDAY NIGHTS
Mr. W. A. Lowe, the well-known theatrical and concert manager, lias operations in full swing for the Amateur Vaudeville Competitions to take place at the Opera House to-morrow (Saturday) and Monday. A long and varied programme has been arranged, consisting of ballet singing, comic singing, humorous and dramatic recitations, jazz dancing and fancy dancing. The ingredients will he supplied by some of Gisborne’s best performers, also two well-known artists, a baritone and contralto from the south. Mr. Low prejets that he will place before a Gisborne- audience a surprise packet that has never before been attempted locally. Full particulars of the artists and the nature of the programme will be announced to-morrow. The box plan at Muir's ife' now wearing a prosperous appearance, and bumper houses seem assured to-morrow and on Monday.
