INDICTMENTS AGAINST COUNTY OFFICIALS. NEW YORK, May 9. At Wheleing, West Virginia, the Federal Grand Jury returned eightyseven indictments, charging various officials and prominent residents of Ohio county with conspiracy to violate the Volstead Act. Those indicted include the former City Treasurer, deputy gaolers, and members of the council. Eighteen arrests have been made so far.-—A. and N.Z.C.A. WHISKY AS MEDICINE. NO LIMITATION FOB MEDICAL MEN. (Received Mav 10, 9.30 p.m.) NEW YORK,’ May 9. in the Federal District Court. Judge Knox ruled void tlie section ot the "Volstead Ac-t limiting physicians' prescriptions to one pint of whisky per patient every ten days. The Court granted an application by a local doctor for an injunction restraining prohibition enforcement agents from interfering with, him and seeking to prevent his prescribing any amount of whisky which in his medical judgment he considers necessary.—A. and N.Z.C.A.
