SLIGHT REDUCTION ON BEEF,
(Received April 14, 5 p.m.) LONDON. April 13. The conference lines have reduced the freight on frozen rabbits to 90s per ton and have also reduced the beef freight by one eighth of a penny per lb. The latter will be re-consider-ed if the Australian harbor dues, etc., are not lowered by November 1.

' A general meeting of the Tolaga j Bay Harbor Board was held on April >7. Present: Members 0. E. Bartram, ! D. H. Hawkins, W. Lockwood, and { C. E. Smith. Leave of absence was granted to the deputy-chairman, , member J. B. Morrio and Caldwell. ! Member D. H. Hawkins was voted to | the chair.
The balance-sheet for the year ended 31st December, 1922, unaudited. was read. On the motion of Member Lockwood, seconded by Member Bartram, it was resolved that the antecedent liability as at 31st December, 1922, amounting to £B3 Os Gd be liquidated by a payment from general account. On the motion of the acting-chair-man, seconded by Member Bartram, it was resolved that the Board strike a rate of -|d in the £ for the year 1923. Reference was made to the election of the new Harbor Board. The secretary stated that he had made application to the Minister for the issue of an Order-in-Council authorising tlie holding of the election on the same day the Dawn Council election. On the motion of Member Smith, seconded by Member Bartram, it was resolved that the action of the secretary in this matter he confirmed.
Accounts amounting to £llO 9s bd were passed for payment.
