DANNEVIRKE. April 14. An unusual fatality attended the building of a bridge over a steam on the main Napier road, near Makotulru. While engaged yesterday afternoon / stripping the casing oft a green concrete pillar, John Bell,, of Wne ukara, aged 21 years, met lus dear a. The concrete broke and seven hundredweight fell' on Bell, throwing him into the stream, and crushing him against the timbers of the foundation. The pillar crumbled and" covered the body, which was not recovered till daylight.,,John Brown, who was assisting Bell, had a narrow escape.—P.A.
