DUNEDIN, April 2. J. A. MacPherson, whose election as M.P. for Oamaru has been nullified, made the following statement to an Otago Daily Times reporter to-jjfo-ht: “I shall definitely contest the Oamaru seat and I wish to give emphatic denial that I have been ap•nroached to stand down in favor of Sir J. Ward.” The Labor Council of Oamaru will not putVd a candidate. Any candidature the Labor interests would be instigated only through the auspices of the Reform party.—P.A.
